Mangaka Fujiko A. Fujio has found passed away on Thursday (7/4) morning in Japan at the age of 88 years. His body was found at his home in Kawasaki.
Reporting from TBS News, police responded to a call reporting someone fainted at around 8:40 am at the artist’s residence. But by the time officers arrived at the scene, Fujiko was already found dead. Police are still investigating Fujiko’s death, but the cursory examination revealed that there are no wounds or suspicious injuries has been found on his body.
Born in Toyama, March 10, 1934, Motoo Abiko is a mangaka who is part of the Fujiko Fujio duo under the pen name Fujiko A. Fujio. He collaborated with Hiroshi Fujimoto or known as Fujiko F. Fujio in 1951 to produce manga works. Doraemon, is one of the most known manga that has been produced by this duo.
As for Fujiko A. Fujio himself, he also penned several successful manga series, including Ninja Hattori-kun, Kaibutsu-kun, Pro Golfer Saru, and The Laughter Salesman which recently 2017 got its new adaptation rework.
The Fujiko Fujio duo then disbanded in 1986. Fujimoto himself passed away on September 23, 1996.
