When announcing the M2 at WWDC 2022, Apple said that this SoC would have an 18% increase in CPU performance compared to the Apple M1.
And recently leaked the Geekbench 5 benchmark from the M2. Compared to Apple M1, the performance is up to 20% higher. This is even higher than what Apple promised. Although what Apple promises is performance per watt, this figure is certainly a good result and close to their claims.
But this is not the most awaited thing from the Apple M2. Due to a significant increase, it is promised in the graphics sector. The GPU performance is said to have increased by up to 35% compared to its predecessor.
The M2 chip will be available in the next-generation 13-inch MacBook Air and 13-inch MacBook Pro, which are expected to be available in some Apple Stores starting July 2022.
The lowest version of the Macbook Air M2 comes with an 8-core CPU, 8-core GPU, 8GB RAM, and 256GB SSD configuration, and costs 1199 USD.
